I am a FTM, and I am wondering how you dress a newborn with a sleeping gown? Do you layer it (short/longsleeve, pants, socks and sleeping gown)? Or just sleeping gown without wearing for 1 last update 2020/06/03 anything on the inside but diapers and socks?I am a FTM, and I am wondering how you dress a newborn with a sleeping gown? Is it suffice to give my baby heat at night if wearing it by itself or do I need layering? TIA
We would usually swaddle the baby if layering was needed. A sleep sack is another good option. We used the sleep gown with just diaper and socks. We had a may baby. You''t think anything else (i.e. pants or a onesie) is really needed. I would suggest a sleep sack too, in place of a blanket :). Hope that helps!

Do you dress the kid from head to toe before putting the sleeping sack? Thanks
Yes you do. I used the the 1 last update 2020/06/03 gown for a little while but as diaper changes and night wakings became less frequent, I started putting her in a sleep & play or a onsie (in warmer weather) underneath the sleep sack.Yes you do. baby sleep ⭐️how to baby sleep for Sleepsack goes over the gown last. It zips in the front to make diaper changes easy.
At five months my son doesn''s easiest for the nurses to check vitals and such. When we do use them, we don''ll have a summer baby and summer here is also warm.
I don''ll have to see next winter what size is your LO and if sleep sacks are working well for baby. During winter a cotton footed pajama with fleece sleep sack, or fleece footed pajama with cotton sleep sack usually worked well. You can mix & match. But in summer just stick with the cotton sleep sack and then you can layer it with the gown or pajamas.
We keep our house set to the same temperature year round (70 degrees), so we always do cotton jammies with a fleece sleepsack or fleece jammies with a cotton sleepsack. We always have two of each, no matter the season.
With my first we were told to dress the baby for bed in one more layer that what you would wear. We normally put a onesie on under the swaddler/sleep sac
Thank you ladies
I do a onesie under my lil guys sleep gown since it gets cold here at night and our apartment isn''s extra chilly
